Among other things she has played in a band with Christoph, whom she has known all her life.
She has also given the girl scouts a try, but fled quite fast, since she had better things to do than knitting or learning how to handle the phonebook!!! In stead she joined the boy scouts all the years her mother was leading “the wolf cups”
After Maiken graduated as a language student, she worked for about 6 month, and then she took off for Australia for 4 month. Down under she learned, among other things, to dive in the sea and in the ozzie beers!!
When she came home she started to work in Ecco (shoe-store) and Bilka ( like Coles or Woolworth.....just bigger!) and at a local TV-station. When she realized that she wasn’t going to start in university until September 2002, she contacted Dream, and to the great delight they had room for her!
We remember an email Maiken sended from Australia after a 3-day stay at the outer-reef! She swore that she was never going to sail again, and she was quite convinced that she was going to die the first day after all the fish she had been feeding!!! Still, we were not surprised when she told us that she was going out sailing. After all, a big part of her family has something to do with the sea; her dad is a fisherman, her brother-in-law is in the Navy (and her sister served there for 9 months!) and her brother is a chief officer for Maersk, and in Maikens earlier years she used to sail in the Little Belt! So there must be some salt water flooding through her veins!!!
What Maiken can contribute with on the boat: well..........She barely remembers how to sail a boat, she’s probably going to make a lot of noise with her mouth-harmonica’s (she carries them everywhere) and we often hear her complaining when she hasn’t caught anything in the put’n’take lake ......We wish u joy if it!!!!
