Dream Times

Falmouth (UK) Tuesday, 24 August 1999

At this moment my co-editor and I are sitting in a nice little pub in the town where tobacco for the first time was landed in Europe. We are at Falmouth in Southwest England. A port often used by sailors going to cross The Biscayan.

Listen to the story how we came to this place from Portsmouth:

Tuesday, 17 August Michal, René and Flemming were mending the damages on the boat. Michal and René tried to get a new wire for the rudder, while Flemming was appointed to be a plumber. The three others – that is Dennis, NP and Mikkel – went to Portsmouth. The film Star Wars gave them a great thirst, and therefore they had to visit the local pub. One beer followed the other and at last "the three Amigos" returned to "Dream" – singing the tunes of "Yesterday".

On the following day the other part of the crew tried to live up to this cheerfulness – successfully.

Flemming had quite a dance with a young lady.

Sunday we went on through The Channel – with nice waves and in high spirit.

Monday morning we lost the wind and we tried to do some fishing. Michal caught a mackerel that was used as bate, trying to get hold of a shark. This was not successful and we had to eat 6 delicious mackerels, grilled in the oven.

Tuesday morning the wind came up, dense fog reduced the visibility to about 50 meters. The old Mercedes motor failed us again and we made our entry to Falmouth with the help of The Royal National Life Boat
